Conejo Weekly News! June 30, 2022

Hi, Conejo family,

I hope your summer is off to a great start. Please don’t forget your church family in prayer, attendance, or giving over the next month or two!

If you missed any of the last 3 weeks in our new series, please catch up through podcasts or videos. You will find those teachings on loving God and loving others very practical and timely.

This coming Sunday, I’ll be preaching about HOW to love God and HOW to love others through your work. Our word “vocation” comes from the Latin word for “calling”. How do you know what you’re called to and how long to stay in a certain position? How do you honor and serve the Lord when things are tough at work? How can you best love those God has placed around you and help them find hope in Him? Let’s unpack these questions together. We will have a few of your friends from Conejo sharing about how they see their role in “regular work” as ministry, as an opportunity to love others.

This Saturday is our first beach day of the summer, so we hope to see you out there or Sunday or both.

Beach/Baptism Day

Everyone’s welcome! Bring your lunch and let’s have a few amazing hours of beach time together (Harbor Cove Beach – “Mother’s Beach” 1950 Spinnaker Drive Ventura, CA 93001). Please let Pastor Kirk know if you’d like to be baptized while we are there! kirk@conejochurch.com

Back to School Bash

James Storehouse | August 6

Please CLICK HERE to volunteer for the coolest give-away event of the year! We’re helping James Storehouse give away brand new backpacks, school shoes, clothes and supplies to almost 1000 local kids in foster care. You won’t be able to stop smiling if you join us!

Please bring new socks and underwear (for school age kids) each Sunday for this event. These are MUCH needed items. We’ll have a collection bin in the lobby.

This is a fantastic Conejo tradition. The kids learn to spend alone time with the Lord and get to enjoy His creation. This is a great chance to invite friends to join you as well. Reserve your spot with a $50 deposit now!

Meet Alexys Ahn

Alexys is a long time friend of David Gabertan and will be assisting him over the summer with our youth. She is a student at Vanderbilt University. She has a huge heart for worship and for your students! If you see her around Conejo, please give her a very warm welcome.
