Conejo Weekly News! July 14, 2022

Hi, Conejo family,

I hope you’ve had a very blessed week. We just returned from a family trip to Guatemala and it was epic!! The country, the people, and the family time were just amazing. Thank you to everyone who prayed for our trip.

Thank you so much to John Barbour for preaching last week. I received so many great reports about the word he

delivered to all of us about loving God and others with our minds.

This coming Sunday will be all about our emotions. HOW do we love and serve God and others with all of who we are, including our emotions? HOW can we learn to experience our emotions as part of our faith the way God intended? HOW can we be ruled by the Holy Spirit and experience the fruit of the Spirit daily, rather than being ruled by our feelings and emotions? Let’s get into this subject together. I’ll also be interviewing Dr. Laura Cavaretta PHD, a psychologist who is part of our congregation. Don’t miss it!

I can’t wait to see you on Sunday. I might even show a few pictures from our trip.

VBS This Week!

July 11 – 15 | 9am to noon

Our kids have been having the best time this week at VBS. It will finish tomorrow at noon. We’re grateful for your support through volunteering and prayer! Look for a recap this coming week. Here are a few photos to show you a little of what they have been up to.

We can’t say enough about the need to draw together as brothers and sisters in Christ to pray. Will you make this a priority and come to one or both of the prayer times next week? July 21, at 7am and 7pm in the sanctuary. See you then!

Back to School Bash | August 6

NOW is the time to sign up! This is a fantastic Conejo tradition. The kids learn to spend alone time with the Lord and get to enjoy His creation. This is a great chance to invite friends to join you as well. Reserve your spot with a $50 deposit now!

Meet Alexys Ahn

Alexys is a long time friend of David Gabertan and will be assisting him over the summer with our youth. She is a student at Vanderbilt University. She has a huge heart for worship and for your students! If you see her around Conejo, please give her a very warm welcome.
