Conejo Weekly News! August 4, 2022

Hi, Conejo friends and family,

I hope you are doing well this week and that you are experiencing the nearness of the Lord! It’s been wonderful to see so many of you staying plugged in all summer!

This past Sunday I preached about how we can use money and resources to love God and to love others. I covered a lot of ground in Scripture and I know you’ll find it helpful if you missed it (click here). Interestingly, I just got the report and we fell behind about $3k in our finances during the month of July. If you’ve missed giving over the summer, now would be a good time to catch up!

This coming Sunday, August 7, I’ll be teaching about TIME. Miles Davis once said, “Time isn’t the main thing. It’s the only thing.” Let’s find out together this weekend if Scripture agrees with Miles. How does God see time and how does he ask his people use it?

Please take a look below at the upcoming events for the rest of summer. There are some really great things coming up! Start thinking about families you could invite to the movie night especially.

Beach & Baptism

Congratulations to Ziona DeLaittre who bravely testified through baptism, that Jesus is Lord of her life! We had the best few hours together at the beach!

James Storehouse
Back to School Bash
This Saturday, August 6

Please CLICK HERE to volunteer for the coolest give-away event of the year! We’re helping James Storehouse give away brand new backpacks, school shoes, clothes and supplies to almost 1000 local kids in foster care. You won’t be able to stop smiling if you join us! Volunteers are also needed for set up the day before.

Men of Conejo
Saturday, August 13

Guys! Come for a few hours of cornhole and food! We will be at Dover/Hendrix park from 3 to 6pm. Meet at the softball field.

Conejo Sunday Lunch
August 14

Come to the Sunday service hungry and stay after for our next shared meal! Bring your best home-made salsa and guac (and a few $$) to add to the taco truck!

Summer Movie Night
Saturday, August 20

Come at 7pm for a movie, s’mores and more. This is a perfect way to end our summer as a family of faith! Everyone’s welcome. We’ll gather in the courtyard in front of the fellowship hall. See you there!
